Statement:

IT HAS BEEN SEVEN YEARS NOW SINCE I FIRST CAME
to the Grand Canyon and stood on its rim, contemplating and attempting to assimilate some how the fantastic landscape below. The totally awesome nature of the vista was consuming. The Canyon beckoned and on my first trip into its depths a few days after my arrival I fell inexorably in love with the immenseness, the silence, the apparent timelessness, and above all, with the light.

It has been a wonderful love affair I have had with this land these past years; ever-changing, demanding, stimulating, full of magic and enchantment; a relationship that many of us have unfortunately lost touch with and one which I am thankful to experience.

The photographs contained in this portfolio document this love. They are not intended to be descriptive, for the Grand Canyon ridicules and defies that whole process. Rather, they are moments of intimacy, moments in and out of time, intimations of grandeur and silence and infinite possibilities.
